What is the most cost effective training for Communication and Leadership?

Dale Caregie and Toastmasters International are recognized leaders for providing Communication and Leadership training. Of the two, Toastmasters training is the most cost eftective training I've found.
Toastmasters International provides very effective hands-on training in Communication and Leadership skills through it's network of 250,000+ members in 11,000+ Toastmasters clubs in 90+ countries. That entire massive organization is dedicated to just one selfish goal: helping the members become better communicators and leaders. Every Toastmasters meeting is a "hands-on" learning laboratory where you learn by doing. Your fellow club members will serve as mentors and, over time, you will become a mentor to newer members. It's an incredible program. I've been a member for more than 25 years. I've stayed in because the program works, because of the incredible personal growth I've experience, because I am still growing, and because I love to coach my fellow members.
But, is it cost effective?
In 2007 I visited Dale Carnegie's website and priced just the "Communications" courses, which represent only half the Toastmasters program...

Includes a subscription to the monthly Toastmaster Magazine. Most Toastmasters clubs meet once a week for either an hour or an hour and a half.
Annual dues vary by club and include $54 dues to Toastmasters International plus whatever additional dues each club decides to add. For example, my Keller Communicators club charges $90 per year. ($54 International dues + $36 club dues) |
